Set up Konnate

This guide takes a new Windows computer from licence key to working AI tools. Konnate is still being tested; ScreenConnect, IT Glue and Salesforce are the main modules, while Microsoft 365, Bitdefender and Zabbix remain beta.

1Get a licence

Buy a monthly plan or ask for a time-limited feedback trial. Keep the licence key private: it identifies your company and is used to enrol computers.

2Install Konnate

Download the Windows installer from the licence or purchase email.
Run the MSI and open Konnate from the Start menu.
Paste the complete licence key into the activation box and choose Activate / refresh.

The owner may need to approve this computer in the Konnate portal. Leave Konnate open while approval is completed, then refresh.

3Download your modules

Only modules included in the active subscription or trial appear. Select Download or Update download for each module. Konnate verifies signed packages before using them and shares one runtime between modules.

4Sign into the MSP services

Choose Set up / sign in beside ScreenConnect, IT Glue or Salesforce, or use Sign in to all. Complete each service's normal login in the window that opens. Microsoft 365 uses its own tenant setup and remains beta.

ScreenConnect: enter the full HTTPS tenant address, such as https://company.screenconnect.com/, then sign in.
IT Glue: enter the tenant address and the correct regional API hostname, then sign in.
Salesforce: complete the Salesforce browser login.

5Connect an AI client

Claude Desktop: choose Connect to Claude Desktop, fully quit Claude, reopen it, then select + → Connectors → Konnate.
Codex: choose Connect to Codex, then restart Codex so it reloads the local connector configuration.
ChatGPT: direct local installation is not yet self-service. It currently requires a secure remote MCP tunnel and remains on the roadmap.

6Try a safe first task

Start with a read operation, for example: “Use Konnate ScreenConnect to find DT-039 and tell me its operating system and connection status.” Then try a controlled write only if the owner has enabled writes. Every module remains limited by its service account permissions and the Konnate company/device policy.

7Check status and permissions

Konnate remains in the Windows system tray. Its menu shows module login status and lets you refresh permissions or check logins. The gateway refreshes its signed online permission lease regularly. A paid period or trial that ends cannot obtain another lease.

Troubleshooting

If a module says not logged in, use Set up / sign in again.
If Claude says Server disconnected, open Konnate, update the runtime/modules, reconnect Claude and fully restart Claude Desktop.
If tools are missing, choose Repair / update downloads and reconnect the AI client.
If permissions changed, select Refresh permissions now.
