Terms of service
1. The service
Konnate is Windows software that lets an AI assistant you choose (currently Claude Desktop and OpenAI Codex) use tools for systems your business already has, such as ScreenConnect, IT Glue and Salesforce. Konnate runs on your computer and signs in with your own accounts for those systems. Konnate is not affiliated with or endorsed by ConnectWise, Kaseya/IT Glue, Salesforce, Microsoft, Anthropic or OpenAI.
2. Who can buy
Konnate is for businesses. By subscribing you confirm you are acting for a business and have authority to agree to these terms for it.
3. Licence
Each subscription gives you a non-transferable licence to use the modules you pay for, on the number of computers approved in your Konnate account, for as long as the subscription is active. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or share the software, licence keys or module packages.
4. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accounts you connect, for having the right to use them this way, and for complying with the terms of those third-party services.
- You control what the AI may do through Konnate's permission settings (for example read-only mode, command confirmation and machine restrictions). You are responsible for reviewing and approving actions the AI proposes, especially changes to customer systems.
- Keep your licence key and computer secure. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been misused.
5. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Konnate working, but third-party systems change without notice and features can stop working until updated. Modules marked Beta or early access are provided as-is. We may update the software and these terms; material changes will be emailed to the account contact before they take effect.
6. Liability
Konnate is provided with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, data or business, or for indirect or consequential loss, or for actions taken on your systems that you or your AI assistant approved. Our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid in those 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
7. Law
These terms are governed by the law of [TO FILL: England and Wales], whose courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
Cancellation and refunds
- Subscriptions are monthly, per module, with no minimum term.
- You can cancel at any time by emailing hello@konnate.co.uk [TO FILL: or "from the billing link in your receipt" if the Stripe customer portal is enabled]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid month and you keep access until then.
- [TO FILL: refund approach, e.g. "Payments are not refunded for partial months, except where required by law or where the service was unavailable through our fault."]
- If a payment fails, access to paid modules stops when the current paid period ends.
Privacy notice
Who we are
The data controller is the seller named above. Contact hello@konnate.co.uk about your data.
What we collect and why
- Account and billing: name, business, email and billing details, to provide the subscription and meet tax and accounting duties. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we do not receive full card numbers.
- Licensing: licence key, approved computer names and device fingerprints, and check-in times, to enforce licences and let you manage approved computers.
- Support emails you send us.
What stays on your computer: your sign-ins to connected systems, the data the AI reads through Konnate, and Konnate's local audit log. These are not sent to us.
Processors
We use Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (website, licensing and downloads) and Resend (email). Some process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. [TO FILL: confirm this list]
Retention
[TO FILL: e.g. "Account and licensing data while you are a customer and 12 months after; billing records for 6 years."]
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, or object to its use, by emailing us. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
